Cherry Hill is a secluded, 2.5 km long beach on Nova Scotia's South Shore. Usually the only visitors are the sand pipers, scooting in and out of the water searching for a meal. In summer, a few families arrive to swim (although rumor is that the undertow is something fierce) and neighbours come to walk their dogs. When the surf is high, the kayakers and wind surfers appear. But mostly the beach is left to the wind, the birds and stranded sea creatures. Twice a day, the sea brings new gifts. Twice a day the tide creates a blank canvas. The changing seascapes at Cherry Hill will be a regular feature on my site. 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
